A Jewel Among Tales

If you read and loved J. R. R. Tolkien’s books, The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, etc., then there is a very real possibility that you will love Unfinished Tales of Numenor and Middle-earth.

It is some of it complete tales, and other parts only fragments, but of such undeniable beauty!  The very air in these tales is redolent of magic and wonder and elves, soft mists of fair lands, courage and adventure.  It is just as good as The Silmarillion, possibly better, though it does repeat a tale or two (in different form) from The Silmarillion.

Then The Tolkien Reader is very good, too, for it contains thirteen-ish poems by Tolkien.  Very good poems, in my opinion.

You can easily find all of the above-mentioned books at the library (you may have to request them from another branch), and The Silmarillion, The Tolkien Reader, and Unfinished Tales are available as a boxed set.
