Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Secret Double Life

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, aside from writing his famous Sherlock Holmes stories, also wrote some history books and two historical novels.

The novels, The White Company and Sir Nigel, while not as friendly to the Catholic Church as I should like, were in other respects good books.  They are filled with knights, horses, shining armor, and all the rest, and treat of historical events long gone by.  I think if you enjoy Sir Walter Scott’s books you would like these; they are so very similar.

For his treatise on the Boer War Sir Arthur was knighted; it might be worth reading, but I’ve never read it, so I don’t know.
